Let’s be real, coaches. The online world is a jungle, and if your website isn’t optimized for search engines, you might as well be explaining the internet to a parakeet. When I was little I used to love those Tarzan films and the jungle was both magical and mysterious – but the online jungle? Egads, it’s full of hyenas and screeching monkeys when you look at social media. In the world of SEO? It’s Tarzan sat on a branch munching on nut and taking in the scenes below.

2025 is going to see momental changes in online business in terms of marketing strategy – and I firmly believe that SEO is the most important strategy you can implement for continuing growth.

Sure, social media can be a fun playground – if you’re loud and like showing off, but it’s also a fickle beast with ever-changing algorithms* and a relentless demand for your attention. If you’re serious about building a thriving online business, you need a more sustainable, reliable strategy. Enter SEO.

*Search engine algorithms change too – and we’re seeing rapid changes as they figure out how they’re going to serve up AI results. They’re testing things out, taking them back to the drawing board and testing again. But – relevant optimized content still wins.

Which sounds complicated – but essentially boils down to – what are your competitors ranking for? What are the numbers of people tapping those questions into Google? Creating valuable, informative and engaging content that speaks directly to your target audience’s needs and aspirations is pretty much a given. But – you don’t just want to be producing content for the sake of producing content.

Socials tend to drag people into performing like a circus monkey for the sake of “engagement” – but, when you’ve got people on to your site you are able to properly implement conversion strategies. Think optins, special offers and the like. Plus – given you’re likely actually selling a ‘quick win’ product already on your site – you really reduce that “oh gosh – do I really need to click another time?” energy people tend to have going on.

This includes optimizing your website’s structure, meta descriptions, image alt text, and other on-page elements. These are generally ‘one and done’ optimizations in terms of site structure and viability – so once you’ve accomplished them all you can pretty much forget about them.

Although the importance of backlinks isn’t what it was – and this is largely due to the shady tactics some employed to earn them – if you’ve ever had a blog which allowed comments you’ll know the annoyance of having multiple crappy spam comments left rather than real people.

But, if you can earn high-quality backlinks from reputable websites in your industry it can be helpful. These backlinks act as votes of confidence, signalling to Google that your website is a trustworthy and valuable resource.
