SEO Audits for Female Entrepreneurs

Okay, let’s be honest. How many times have you landed on a website and thought, “Yikes, this needs some work“? Maybe the design was stuck in the 90s, the navigation was confusing, or the content was drier than a stale biscuit.

Now, imagine potential clients having that same reaction to your website. Ouch.

A bad coaching website with no SEO strategy says “Closed for business”!

The truth is, many online businesses, especially those run by coaches, are making some major website + SEO mistakes that are scaring away potential clients and hindering their growth.

Self-Creation – Bad UX (User Experience)

I find this perplexing because getting accredited costs $$$, yet these same people are trying to teach themselves ‘Tech’ and put a digital face out to the world – but are failing miserably because it’s simply not their ‘zone of genius’.

‘ve been working with coaches now since 2013 and it takes me about 0.5 seconds to ascertain whether the site was designed by a professional or not. Sure, I’m a techie – but anyone and everyone can spot a ‘hooky’ site. It’s not any criticism of your skills – or lack of – but when there’s no natural ‘flow’, mismatched visuals etc., then it doesn’t lend itself to a positive user experience.

Spending $20k on getting your coaching credentials and then $75 + many hours + many tears – on developing your website makes absolutely zero business sense.

Are you in with this business? Or are you out?

WordPress Plugins Gathering Dust

Plugins are like spices in a recipe – a few carefully chosen ones can enhance the flavour, but too many can create a muddled, tasteless mess. Worse case scenario? They make your ‘meal’ totally inedible and only good for the bin!

Outdated or unused plugins can slow down your website, create security vulnerabilities, and even break your site altogether.

I’ve investigated many coach’s website who are using plugins which are allowing all sorts of malware and nasty shit to get in and wreak havoc. On top of that, they’ve installed waaaaay more than they actually need to do the job – adding extra weight (processing/loading time) and just straight up messing shit up.

Always buy from a reputable brand who are taking their business seriously – making money from developing and maintaining their plugins is their business. If a plugin hasn’t been updated for 5 years – chances are it’s riddled with vulnerabilities and won’t do your site security any favours at all.

Meta Descriptions Copied from Competitors

Your meta description is your website’s elevator pitch in search results. Copying from your competitors is not only lazy but also ineffective. It’s like wearing someone else’s clothes – they might not fit right, and you’ll be awkwardly pulling at the hem every day because you know it’s not quite right.

I know it’s cliche – but ‘you‘ are the niche.

Every niche has competitors – every customer will be drawn to one of you. When you copy, you can’t stand out.

Blog Posts Written with Zero Keyword Strategy

Creating blog content without an SEO keyword strategy is like throwing darts blindfolded. You might hit the target occasionally (after a glass of wine or two) – but most of the time, you’ll miss the mark by far.

It’s not good enough in the eyes of the search engines to be creating ‘low-value’ pieces just because you feel you ought to be putting something out there. A good example of this would be a blog about “a day in my working life” – that’s great nurturing content for the audience you already have… but it’s not going to have Google quivering with excitement any time soon.

A clever keyword strategy, content structure, and internal linking are crucial for getting your blog posts seen by Google (and potential clients!).

No Conversion Points (CRO)

Imagine walking into a store with no cash register or sales assistants. Frustrating, right? Yet many coaching websites aren’t really asking the client to take the next step and become a client.

Your website needs clear calls to action to guide visitors towards the next step, whether it’s booking a consultation, downloading a freebie, or making a purchase.

If you’re clear that you want to be able to market your business without relying on Social Media Marketing – then you need to be able to capture those visitors email addresses so that you can contact them again.

Improve your search engine rankings: A well-optimized website is more likely to rank higher in search results, making it easier for potential clients to find you. This means instead of needing to be the bubbliest bunny on Socials – you ‘set and go – and get found by clients with purchasing intent.

  • Attract more qualified traffic: By targeting the right keywords and creating valuable content, you’ll attract visitors who are genuinely interested in what you offer. Not only that, because they’re actively searching for you rather than stumbling across your reel – they’re again, working with intent to buy.
  • Enhance user experience: A user-friendly website keeps visitors engaged and encourages them to explore your services because it looks like you’re actually open for business and still running. A crappy website sends the message “we don’t GAF” and makes your clients think your services will be crappy too.
  • Increase conversions: Clear calls to action and optimized landing pages guide visitors towards taking the desired action, whether it’s booking a call or making a purchase. Getting conversions from Socials is really hard work – the social algorithms will suppress any suggestion your clients leave their platform to visit yours – whereas search engines are actively promoting your site.
  • Gain a competitive edge: An SEO audit can reveal what your competitors are doing well (and where they’re falling short), giving you valuable insights to outperform them.

Don’t let your website be a ghost town. Invest in an SEO audit today and start attracting the level of business you’ve been working for.
