AI Visibility for Course Creators
If ChatGPT helped you build your course… shouldn’t it also be recommending you to your ideal clients?
We’re all leaning on AI every day now – from content creation to course outlines to video editing. But somewhere along the way, we forgot the obvious: the same AI tools we use are the ones our customers use, too. And right now? Most of our businesses are invisible to them.
Welcome to the AI Invisibility Gap.
Search Has Changed. Drastically.
For decades, Google was the default. A monopoly. But in the last six months, their traffic has fallen off a cliff. Down to just 27% of worldwide searches.
And fewer than 12% of people scroll past halfway down the page.
89% stop at the AI overview box.
Translation: if you’re not visible in AI search, you’re basically invisible.
Google vs. ChatGPT: A Reality Check
I tested this myself.
On Google, I typed: “I’m looking for a business coach. Who would you recommend?”
What I got: a mess of Reddit threads, Quora posts, random agencies, and men I don’t know. Zero connection.
On ChatGPT, I asked the same thing.
What I got: recommendations that were spot on for me. It even filtered out the fluff I hate (“raise your vibration and manifest $20k months under the moonlight” – nope).
It recommended Faith Mariah and Trena Little – people I already know and like. But here’s the magic: it also recommended four women I’d never heard of before. Now they’re on my radar, because ChatGPT decided they were the right fit for me.
That’s the opportunity. AI can surface you to the exact right people who’ve never heard of you before. But only if you’ve given it the right signals.
Machines Don’t Care About Your Transformation Copy
Hate to break it to you: AI doesn’t give a damn about “empowerment” or “soulful journeys.”
Machines want boring, structured data:
- Who exactly your course is for
- How long it takes
- What’s included (down to the week, session, or template)
- Measurable results and percentages
- Named frameworks
It’s not sexy, but it’s what gets you cited.
For example:
❌ “I help women transform their lives and find inner peace.”
✅ “I’ve helped 247 women increase their monthly revenue to £10k using my 6-week Pinterest Queen Framework. 73% saw an increase of £5,000–£63,000 per year.”
See the difference?
FAQs Are Your Secret Weapon
One of the simplest ways to get visible in AI search: build out FAQ sections on your course pages. Then wrap them in FAQ schema (that’s the bit of code AI crawlers understand best).
Think of questions like:
- Who exactly is this course for?
- What will I learn, specifically?
- How long does it take?
- What results can I expect?
- What support do I get?
- What’s my framework called?
Be specific. Be boring. Be measurable.
That’s how AI feels confident recommending you.
Early Movers Win Big
Here’s the brilliant part: the field is wide open. Most business owners are still arguing on forums about whether “SEO is dead.” Meanwhile, AI search is already here.
The entrepreneurs who get structured, crawlable, boring-but-beautifully-specific data onto their pages now are the ones who’ll dominate in the next 12 months.
Everyone else? Left behind, still wondering why Google traffic tanked.
